Cooler -Dryer - Lighter, via a trade with EJames. I came out much the better on the trade, which is always a good thing.

of course it arrives on the day I swear off smoking for a few days to let my palate rest.
Without smoking it, here are my general observations....
It is "smaller" than I would have thought. It is not a small pipe, nor is it flimsily made. It is just sort of strange how it comes together. I can understand why it didn't make it past test marketing into mass distribution. And I don't say that to condemn it. Only it is something quite different than a traditional pipe. There is a word that describes it, only my vocabulary escapes me now. Maybe "airy" is what I am looking for. Ethereal may be a bit too strong a description. Maybe this is a SteamPunk pipe.
It has a carb feature, which is likely the "cooler / dryer" part of the pipe, at least by intent.
I look quite forward to having a smoke in it. I can't see smoking anything heavy in it. This is a Lame Eye Cue kind of pipe, not a Haddo's Delight smoker.
EJames also sent me a nice poker, featured in the picture above. I get a lot of nice tampers. I tend to send dead houseflies and collection notices with my packages. I look forward to tamping with it.

I'm glad you didn't send any dead houseflies or collection notices with that PA. Dead flies I have, collection notices I don't want!! Enjoy the pipe(hopefully) when your tongue get rested up!!

very diffrent probly would look really good if it was a bent and had a cob top
it would look great like that.
in the bottom of the trash can.
the carb feature is the same as been discussed before. Look in my profile, under posts, and see if you can find the one about Kaywoodies and Aerospheres. All you need to know.

Hate to burst your bubble but that is not a carb. I have one of these. The "carb" looking part is just where the metal stem reaches all the way through the bowl. The CDL comes from
1) Having a metal stem with a similar line of thought as most stingers (cooler, dryer)

2) if you look inside the bowl, instead of having a traditional draft hole position, there are several holes along the stem, thought being more air, lighter smoke.

I like mine a lot. I bought it from lonestar a while back. I have a small collection of Grabows and I like this one more then the others. The only thing I don't like is the only removable part is the last inch or so of the stem. So getting the metal shank inside the bowl clean is difficult.

Eaglerico, does your CDL NOT have a small aluminum fitting with a tiny hole in it, in the lower front part of the bowl?

That is the "carb". All 17 of mine have one.

I tried to get one of these with a rusticated sitter bowl. Still want one sooo bad for my budding DG collection!
