Heading outside just now with my cup of coffee(properly called "wake the fuck up!") clenching my Peterson billiard pot pipe. This is the biggest pipe I own. Go to open the back door to the porch, obviously too close to my face( for the pipe I had) and slammed the door right into my pipe, which was in my teeth ... I was very irritated by the fact that I ALMOST dropped my pipe. Refraining from cursing and punching a wall I noticed that it was either my pipe, or my tooth... I chose my pipe...

Also note: Do not clench a straight pipe in front of your face while driving, in the event of an airbag deployment you will be impaled.

I was hesitant to tell my wife that my favorite hobby just ruined my front tooth. As I showed it to her, she said it was barely noticeable... It was very obvious to me, but I said"ok!" And quickly closed my mouth, and continued my journey to the porch to smoke my pipe.

Good call, the juggling of coffee, pipe, and door is a daily challenge...I would guess your experience is not isolated to just you...hope you didn't spill any tobacco!

Funny this came up. Porch swings are dangerous in the morning. Dropped an open tin, smacked my pipe sideways. Was lucky no tobacco rolled off the porch or spilled; because it rolled three feet open and a foot from the wet grass. Card and (i say its a coffee filter) saved me. We all have those days. As long as your pipes ok so are you :D

This is the problem with coffee. It's almost impossible to do anything before I've had some, but making it involves fine motor skills, handling boiling hot water, and usually a breakable mug, before I'm even sure what day it is. This is why I'll never be a morning pipe smoker. Adding fire to the equation would be a recipe for disaster.

I wonder if a gentleman had his butler have coffee and a pipe ready in the morning....that sounds like a sweet deal and a lot less hassle.

Glad the injuries were so minor, relatively speaking. I've knocked pipes out of my mouth when puttering about and there is the potential for pain.

I often clench my pipe while working. I have had several close calls. Stuck one in the back of my throat one time. Not a great experience.

I take a morning wake up smoke on Saturdays. With hot coffee already in hand, at this point, I wait until seated on the patio to load my pipe. The coffee is challenge enough for my multi tasking before 7 AM.

So, didimauw, did the whole experience wake you up?
Yes very much so! Hahaha
And yes I usually don't do a damn thing until my second cup of coffee! Usually don't leave the home till the pot is gone...
