Several blends that I've tried in the last few years seem to sting my mouth.Especially straight Virginia.I won't name the brand but I've smoked at least ten of their blends they all did it even though most of them were aromatics. It's like tongue bite but it's not because they burn hot.The only thing I can come up with is a chemical reaction.I've smoked a lot of blends over the years with no trouble. Now and again though I run into this problem with a blend.Any one else ever encounter this?

I have a similar issue with Virginias. Not enough to get in the way, but enough to make me to try to stick to the P-lip, when smoking Virginia based flakes.
Hmmm, I will make a guess on the brand. Samuel Gawith. I love their stuff but I've had minor tongue bite problems with them, as well as another Virginia Flake. I love SG so that's not a complaint, it's just a learning curve for me.

i had chemical burn all in my lungs from mopping a closed up basement with a strong clorox solution. i didn't realize it was so strong because the sense of smell was burned out of my nose before anything else. it wasn't much fun.
