Yeh... suck on something someone else sucked already. Good solutionBuy a used one, they smell like tobacco.
There's a good chance you get the same from newly purchased. People often test draw pipes before buying. If purchased online and the buyer doesn't like the draw and sends it back unsmoked, it's still listed as new.Yeh... suck on something someone else sucked already. Good solution
A estate from a reputable seller is well cleaned, don't expect a thrift store or garage sale pipe to be cleaned well.Yeh... suck on something someone else sucked already. Good solution
I think it was Brian Levine who said, “Do you use only brand new utensils when you go to a restaurant?” That stuck with me as a good parallel to estate pipes.I do almost all my own estate work. Its not rocket science.
I get that some folks are sensitive to the IDEA of an estate but Im a woodwind player and technician. Just like pipes there is a huge market in used and vintage mouthpieces (mostly vulcanite). I also customize mouthpieces. Im plenty used to the idea of just cleaning things and using them.
You can clean and sanitize an object very easily. You cannot clean an idea.
If you let them air out they'll smell fine. Or smoke them. I think it's just the bags they use on those cheaper Pete pipes.Because it smells like shit brand new. Like antibiotics.... got 2 bot
