I made a rookie mistake of meddling with the pipe stems of my Savinelli Churchwardens. Needless to say that I almost ruined the thing. Apart from kicking myself ceaselessly, I desperately trying to contact Savinelli factory and see if I can send my pipes to them to be made well again. (You see, I'm new at having pipes, and am at a stage where every new pipe is first love.) My e-mail went unanswered and I'm contemplating sending them to independent repair service in the States, but then I worry that the new stems wouldn't be the same as the original stems for the models. It's partly Savinelli's fault, actually, because for one of the pipes, the stem didn't fit the shank(as they are churchwardens, the stems were shipped to me detached from the bowl). So I wonder if Savinelli does provide repair service for their pipes, and I'm willing to pay for all the costs. Please advice.

I would be more aggressive in trying to contact them usually a stern call or email gets a response. Now days customer service is very poor and most companies cut them short to save money. If all else fails there are some very good service me in the US and we can get you a couple links.

Thank you, chlogeo3, and jship079. Only fellow pipe-smokers do understand my feelings :). I have learnt my lesson now, and will never again attempt to fix the pipe myself (I'm so sorry about your Shannon, chlogeo3). Thanks for your support. River.

Thank you Bob. I was trying to decide whether to send them to pipe repair person or to Savinelli factory. Savinelli neither respond to my e-mail nor answer my call. Your input is helpful. I had better stick to Peterson from now on then.

You definitely don't want to mess with the Savinelli U.S.A. side of the business. They are no help at all with anything. I asked them a simple question about the dating of their pipes once (the transition from a 4# system to a 3# system and they basically told me I was crazy. I had to talk to the Italy people to get treated right, but they were great.
Still, I'd just send it to a good repair-man state-side.

Mark Tinsky just did some great work for me. Contact him and see if he'll tackle it.

Thank you mattia76. I'll send the pipe to a repair man in the States. Already found one that said he can probably fix it without replacing the stems. Those craftsmen/artists are amazing. I have great admiration for them these days, since I took up the pipe.

Well hell their Italy factory would have just opened for the day mate. Good to hear they'll sort it though.
