Do you expect the same quality from group-order pipes ?

Wow. Just wow. If they can't make a group order up to snuff then they shouldn't take the order. Period. Seesh. And what a lame excuse whatever it was. If you paid that much per pipe that's just nuts. That's not acceptable as a discount line of seconds.

Why would a maker pawn less than their best to a club whose main interest is pipes, and can discuss the minutiae associated with a pipe ad nauseam.

And do things like talk about pipes with strangers.

The website seems like the website of a talented and arrogant younger man. The stuff written on there would make me pissed if I couldn't shoot lighting bolts out of the pipe after smoking it. Seems like a classic prides great but so is humility too.

I did two group orders with Martin Cermak, one with Jack Howell and one with Ryan Alden. Quality was superb on all. All of these carvers are known for their quality, I would have been shocked if the pipes were less than superb.

Where was the Cermak group buy? I’ve been wanting one of his pipes.

Interesting, I think his buttons are extremely well made.

Not to narrow? They really looked narrow to me. Which is a shame, because otherwise at least one pipe was coming home with me.

Already indicated there shouldn't be a lower standard for producing pipes for a group, but the answer was a pretty obvious one.

Having said that, the excitement about "escalating", lol, and whatever making it public means is a little off putting.

Sounds like someone may have to run a croissant gauntlet.
