I enjoy several tobaccos with Latakia: the old Balkan Sobranie, Stokkebye's English Oriental, Peterson's Old Dublin among others. But for some reason My dislike for McClelland's blends with Cyprian is growing. Blue Mountain and 3 Oaks are the problem blends for me, Full Balkan to a lesser degree. Does anyone else have this reaction? They must be doing something in the curing which, to me, gives it a metallic taste. Aging for some time improves it. I haven't yet tried long term aging, but will. I ordered some 3 Oaks with Syrian, and am hoping it will be more to my liking. Now these are very popular tobaccos, so it might be possible that this reaction is because of a quirk in my taste. I would appreciate hearing from Lat lovers about this, and would also be grateful for recommendations of great Lat blends from other companies.
