Not enough is said about this old brand, don"t smoke it enough, on porch with coffee, bowl of Nitecap, watching PMon tear up my old tennis shoes !

and really enjoy some Nat Sherman 536. I have a nice bulldog carved by Johs, with a good big bowl,

but it has a saddle stem like the first pipe here.

Al to your question, yes it is a 9438.
