So far I have only had the original FM and Cellar. What are the distinctive differences in all of them? While I can tell that there is a whisky flavoring in Cellar, they are kind of the same.

Across the pond uses Syrian Latakia, on the bayou has perique, on the town focuses more on the oriental and Virginia.

Bayou is good, but once you realize there are better Lat blends, this crap taste like cardboard. In fact, I almost never tried another McClelland product again because of Frog on the Bayou.

I love all of them and smoke them semi-regularly!

I love to alternate them over a period of about a week and smoke all 4, enjoying and comparing the differences and similarities. After about a week of smoking them all, I get bored with it and move on to another open tin/jar blend.

Later on I will get interested in them again and do it all over again. I think FM Cellar is probably my favorite though... if I had to pick one.

A Forums member sent me a 100 gm tin of Cellar many moons ago, which I am still aging, but with big anticipation. I tried the original and found it a pleasant mild smoke and finished it off with pleasure. Right now GLP Westminster is filling that place in my rotation. I would say the Frogs are good for "thems" of us who like a mild smoke between our heftier blends. Some people always need the jolt, whereas sometimes I just want a ruminative puff. When I want it all back in focus, I reach for the Five Brothers, Tambolaka, Billy Budd or Old Joe Kratz.

If you like the Frogs, Baoyou is worth trying. It was one of my favorites when I first started. It's got perique in it, so it's kind of like a smoother, richer, kind of musty version of Frog Morton.

I recently acquired a new tin of FM Bayou. It is still unopened as of yet, but I plan on working it in to my next binge/rotation of FM blends.
