Does anyone keep a Dictaphone in the car in case they get an idea for a thread while rolling down the highway? I have one in the car but not implicitly for this reason. I am using it now and typing this post verbatim from the recording (stop).

Cell phones, typically.

In the kitchen, a pocket sized notebook.

In the office, sticky notes.

At home, scrap paper.

I always keep a few pens in my pocket. Typically 3, since I once ran out of ink in 2 pens while taking notes in grad school. I was so upset. I mean how often do you run out of ink, let alone twice in one sitting.

For my user experience job i have several different sketch books and ringed pads around for sketching solutions that pop into my head. I always keep them when they are full, i have one with all the original doodles and sketches of Amazon when we were designing it, same for office max for their first site, cabelas and a few others. Fun to go back and look at.

I've never been more techie than game consoles or a phone but there's probably an application that would make a dictaphone obsolete.
