I've been searching for info on time lines for MM cob pipes with little luck so far. I'm just curious to find out about the year these cobs came out.

Theres nothing out there on the web to help really. The top pipe has a corncob shank which will date it earlier than the 1980's for sure. The middle shape with the diamond shank also ceased production by the 1980's. The aluminum shanked pipe is a new one for me, never seen one. The "experimental period" at MM seemed to revolve around the 1930's-1950's when they were competing against a dozen or more companies and had to come out with newer designs. This pipe doesn't look like its that early, but the top two could be as early as the 1950's based on the stems and shapes.

So thats the best range I could give you, say 1955-1985. My guess is somewhere around the mid 60's.

Thanks lonestar. These three came in a recent ebay pipe lot win and most of the 40 pipes seem to be from the 50-60's.

This belies the idea that the Missouri Meerschaum is a temporary pipe you buy off a cardboard display for

a few months of pipe smoking. My two are years old and getting better. Serious pipe doesn't always mean

expensive. What a great product from Washington, Missouri. Dependable as the sunrise.

Yep I talk to Marylin on a semi regular basis she has gone and found pipes in various year catalogs for me several times and I often send her emails and pictures of any unusual cobs that I find.
