A few years ago (5?) the major European tobacco producers switched the style of round tins by making a subtle change.
Before, these round tins had a ridge on both the top and bottom that provided some strength to the tin. The sticker label was placed inside the ridge. You can feel the ridge when you run your finger across. It is also visible to the eye.
The newer tins did away with this and are now completely flat. I believe this was done to increase the area of the label to allow room for mandated warnings etc. The sticker labels now run almost to the edge of the tin, where before there was more room around the sticker.
Beware listings claiming age of 10 years or more on tins that do not have the ridge. Such as this one for example:
