I knew better than to have the title as 'Dating Peterson Tins' - never would get the discussion back to a serious note!
I was looking at ways to determine dates on my tins and came across this for Peterson tins; using the number to the right of the UPC on the top back...the first two digits are the year, next two are for the day and the third pair of digits are for the month. This is likely not for the older Peterson tins, but at least suffice for the re-branded Dunhills. Not much use for a while, but it's a start! On the other hand, could be pure BS, but it works on all of my Pete tins so far!
