A fellow doesn’t live by Lee Star Grade pipes alone (although he certainly could, and be very happy) so I occasionally bid on larger briars, to smoke in the cool of the evening on my deck, using catfish bait scented English blends.
I just won this big, fat Danish made 9mm filter Stanwell for only $41, delivered.
The seller says he’s getting out of restoring pipes due to his health, and the pipe appears ready to fill up and smoke.
What I can’t decide, is that a highly polished vulcanite stem or acrylic?
Either way, it hardly matters.
This will be my second pipe that takes 9mm filters. My other one is a pear hardwood pipe that won’t win any beauty awards but is an excellent smoker.
I’ll try the 9mm filters in my Stanwell Danske Club, and hope they work as well as they do in my pear wood pipe.
I usually remove the stinger from my Lees, and don’t use any filter in my other filter pipes, but the 9mm may be different.
