I dont know why i did it, but i did. Currently have 17 tobacco's to choose from, but was out today and decided to try another Macbaren's blend. So rather than order it online with my next purchase, i paid 19.00 plus 15% taxes for a 50 gram pouch of Virginia #1. I smoked 1 bowl and now i have no tounge. Anyway, its up for swap if anyone is interested. I do believe i cannot smoke straight Virginin baccy.

It's the Mac Baren, not the Virginia. That blend did the exact same thing to me and I love Virginias. Same with one of their straight burley blends. I wound up giving them to a member here and he had the same experience.

After reading about MacBarens tobacco, which I've never tried yet, I think I have some in my last order. I watched a you tube video of a young lady who smokes MacBarens. She loves the stuff. So, I figured what the heck. It must be on the mild side. I'll have to check and see what I bought. I hope its not the Virginia #1.
I just tried some Fusion Labs Caramel Apple Pie and Cool Winter Delight. This is some rude shit. Talk about bite. I thought I was going to have a easy smokin blend. I read a review from someone here rave about it, so I thought, I'd give it a try. It's all what the blenders make it. Blending isn't an exact science. Who ever made my batch, missed something. Now I'm stuck with 7 ounces. At $5.99 an ounce, I'm out some scratch.
I just want an easy smokin blend that is repeatable order after order.

nsfisher: PM me your address. I'll ship you a sample of MV-1000. It worked for me. But when you get it, do this (it's what I do and it works). Leave it out to dry for 30 mins or so. Smoke slowly. The first puff is a little harsh, but as the bowl progresses it gets nice and mellow. I've read it's got some aromatic to it, but if so it's very, very mild and faint. But it is a straight Va. I'd be happy to ship you a little baggie worth.
PS: It'll be saturday before I can ship.
And if someone is willing to send me some Hal O the Wynd in exchange, I'd be grateful ;-)

I had the same problem with the one straight Virginia blend I tried. I'm going to try to mix it with some burley that I found rather flavorless. Maybe I'll throw in a little perique and some scraps of whatever to see what I can come up with.
I don't want to give up on it because I liked the one VA/per blend I tried: Villager 1888 - After Dinner

I don't seem to have the same experience with MacB blends. I have learned to be patient with them and they are great to me. But I also haven't tried Va# 1 yet. Smoking Dark Twist now and man its a good one.

Mick:
thanks for offer mate but i got no hal o wind, i actually just read review on that couple days ago an am thinkin of tryin it soon. I got nothin here yet in nuff quantity to make it worthwhile to u. unless u want that virginin #1, which i doubt lolololol. I may give it to my neighbor, along with an old pipe, he runs his mouth alot an that may tame him down some.

customers deserving of pain :laughat:
Lumping all of MacBaren together into "it burnt my tongue" might not be a great idea. I find their aromatics to be rather smooth, particularly 7 Seas Royal Blend.

Yeah I've smoked a number of Mac Baren Blends, all of the 7 Seas line, Cherry Ambrosia, Vanilla Cream (loose and flake), Black Ambrosia, and Plumcake and none of those blends have ever set my tongue on fire with a bite ever. Just have to be patient and slowly sip on it.
