Anyone know anything about Dane Gelder pipes? Nothing in pipedia or any of the other usual sources that I can find. I have only found a few offered for sale in a few places like eBay, but without any good info. One listed for sale claimed it was from 1914 without any supporting info. Another claimed it was an Italian make and had ITALY stamped on the stem, but mine does not. Another claimed it was a Danish hand made, again, without supporting info. I picked it up at an estate sale along with some other beauts - the others that are dateable all seem to be circa 50's or 60's. There are no other markings other than what is shown in these photos - only the arched DANE GELDER on the shank and the D/G on the stem.
