Dan Tobacco closing?

Heard a rumor Dan Tobacco is closing. Is this true?

Dan did close but as far as I know their blends are still made and distributed.

Sounds like it’s the old factory and website are being closed, and blends will continue to be made (where?).

Its hard to say. That article is a year old and there seems to be no shortage of Dan tobaccos. The article statest tobacco will still be made but like everything else, its subject to rapid change.

Dunhill labeled tobacco was still available for a few years after it was announced that it was being discontinued.

Well, the article clearly says not to worry and that the blends are still being made. They are no longer being sold by Dan becuase the web and actual shop shut down. Of course we always worry. Of course it could be history at any point. It fully stocked all over Germany.

I seem to understand the Dan Pipe B & M is now closed (as of May 2023) but their products (DTM) are currently available at “Zigarren Fries” for a B & M and online at Cigarre24.de online.

Almost all vendors in Germany have at least some DTM blends. Some a lot, some a few.

Could be wrong but I thought it was a STG take over much like the Dunhill blends.

It's a badly written article. Dan Pipe the retail operation closed. DTM the tobacco manufacturer did not. The author makes the clarification in a comment at the bottom of the article.

Thank you! I was about to post "Say it isn't so!!!" I was a little surprised to hear this because I contacted them last month after buying some Salty Dogs to get the manufacturing date on it. They date their tobacco using batch codes that you and I wouldn't understand. I got a response from them within 24 hrs and I found out my pouch was 1-1/2 years old! I have really enjoyed that blend!

I simply emailed info@dantobacco.de and asked them when my pouch was packaged. That white oval shaped sticker on the pouch is the batch number. Mine was 6 digits and located on the back of the pouch. Email them and ask them for the manufacturing date for that batch number.
