I say damn the gurgle.
To hell with it.
Tamp.
Re-light.
Full speed ahead.
Maybe you'll get rewarded.
This is what I got for my efforts.

Not perfect ash but getting close.

I'm sure enjoying this Crumble Kake. It's not as "sweet cream" as Presbyterian but sweeter than Old Dublin, and the tin of My Mixture 965 I just finished.
A real nice smoke.
Why is it every new English I try is suddenly my new favorite?
Such an affliction.

Cheers.

I wanted one more quick smoke at the end of the evening last night and I remembered I had this little nose-warmer zipped up in a pouch - a "pouch pipe". I decided to try a new tobacco combo with it and went to work.

But I couldn't make it gurgle. Now I know, some of you are saying I should try harder, and I must admit, I really think if I try hard enough I can make any pipe gurgle, but it just wasn't happening last night. I must have been overly tired or something. ;)

Anyway, it was a delicious smoke and I woke this morning craving more. ?‍♂️

I'll just have to wait until after work hours...

Not entirely ash but not too bad. I enjoyed it and don't feel like I lost anything valuable with a little bit of dottle.

Another nice pipe / tobacco combination. I love it when I find them. It was a little difficult in the beginning but with time, repetition, improved drying, packing, tamping, etc. techniques, I'm finding more combos that work together nicely.

It gives me more options to explore, and for me, the same tobacco will often have different profiles by changing the pipe I use, even if the comparison is briar to briar.

Lovin' it!

Cheers
