So in the past I asked about re-hydrating some old, dried out baccy. I got some great advice and went to town. Two of they came back to life real nice like, one however, while it smells GREAT in the jar (much more aroma) and the feel is great.... the smoke is horrible!
My wife tells me it smells nice, but it taste like I'm burning yesterdays newspaper. I have no flavor of this once rich blend - just ashes taste.
I find that it's hard to keep lit, so I guess it's too wet. It doesn't feel wet, it feels nice, lively, springy.
Should I dump it out and let it dry out?

I'd let it dry out just to see if it helps. Then, if that doesn't work, dump it out. I usually push any tobacco I don't like on my friend who will smoke just about anything.

Tobacco contains aromatic oils which are perhaps the most important factor in giving it taste. It also contains water, which is the prime factor in how wet or dry the tobacco seems. Water evaporates fairly quickly when the tobacco is not in a sealed container, the oil evaporates much more slowly. When tobacco has lost most of its water content it will burn very hot and generally taste pretty nasty. If it has still retained a significant oil content then replacing the water will usually bring the flavor back to life. It won't be as good, but it will still be enjoyable. If the tobacco has dried to the point where the oils have also evaporated then the flavor is gone and no amount of re-hydration can bring it back.
