Oh nice! Any idea who will be making it?Yeah Virginia, Stoved Katerini, and Perique this year. But there will be another limited Christmas straight VA. It was discussed in a recent Greywoodie podcast, ep 60.
Sutliff. If I recall correctly, in that podcast they were saying that people kept complaining about the addition of perique in the Cringle Flake so they were just going to make a straight Virginia to appease the whiners. (That last part was just me putting words in their mouth.)Oh nice! Any idea who will be making it?
I had pretty much the exact same experience as you with the 2022 Cringle flake. I think about trying it again now that’s it’s aged a bit in a jar but always reach for something else that I know I will like instead.I still have 2022 Cringle Flake (stoved VA and perique). I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either; may need to try it again. I think I recall it being less plummy/fruity than expected and more peppery. I know I liked the first few bowls, but then later I didn't care for it. Might be better now that it's been open a year, and when I started to not like it, that could have simply been me being a bit off or something.
I love Macedonian/Katerini, but I dunno if I'll put in for a tin this year. If that's what it has, sounds like it might be better than last year. We'll have to see when the time comes around.
…appease the whiners.
