Apologies if this has already been discussed but I wondered if anybody has experimented with their tobacco, I pinched out enough to fill one bowl the other week, put it in an empty tin and drizzles the last few precious drops of a bottle of bourbon I had left over from Xmas and gave it a shake with the lid on, checked it tonight and it had dried out enough to smoke, before packing my pipe I gave it a smell, it had retained the sweet cherry/liquorice smell but with a added extra hint of bourbon, took me back to Xmas! Packed it, smoked it... Loved it! Please, I need more ideas if anybody else enjoys a little experimentation with their relaxation.

A lot of guys are into this, but I'm not. I figure if I want some bourbon with my tobacco, I'll just pour one.

There are canisters with sponges on the bottom that you can add flavorings to. There's a plastic piece with perforations that allow the liquor to "flavor" the cigar or pipe tobacco over time. If ylou can find one, that would be the easiest way to introduce your favorite flavoring to your blend.

I has a pouch each of prince Albert and sir Walter Raleigh that I less than loved. So I mixed them together with about two ounces of 1Q in a jar. Then soaked about a two inch square of paper towel in dark rum and sealed it all up over a week ago.have not smoked it yet but it smells freaking awesome now! :D

Get yourself a spray bottle. There are numerous flavors available in the spice isle at the grocery store. Spray any flavor that appeals to you such as orange, maple, vanilla, cherry etc. Use it full strength. That is how I got started!

If you are really serious about adding an aromatic sauce to tobacco, I recommend that you use at the least a tobacco labled "non-aromatic". At best, I strongly recommend that you purchase "blending tobaccos". These are available on the www.cornellanddiehl.com site or you can request it from your local pipe shop. They may have raw tobacco available. Decide on what blend of different tobacco's you want to try and flavor. Then proceed!

Click on pic to enlarge. Here I have applied the Captain Bob's sauce to the Captain Bob's Blend of six tobacco's.

This was during the experimentation phase of creating Captain Bob's Blend with Craig Tarler of C&D.
