Corned Beef and Cabbage

Normally I cook this (with a crew) for 600 or so people but the past few years on account of the 'Rona virus the annual fund raiser banquet has been cancelled.
Today I cooked this for my family because I actually miss Corned Beef and Cabbage. I selected a flat cut because it is leaner and my ticker ain't running so good (85% blockage, they tell me.)
Our mini-banquet turned out beautifully!
I know Corned Beef and Cabbage is a purely American tradition on St.Patrick's Day, but I was wondering if anyone else here cooked Corned Beef and Cabbage to celebrate?

Going over to my parents for corned beef with pearl onions and cabbage. Looking forward to it my dad makes a really good one. And my Mom makes a killer salad.

Delicious tradition. Like Turkey on Thanksgiving it’s a once a year treat but there’s nothing like corned beef and cabbage with a bit of vinegar or mustard. I tend to over eat it!

I’ve never cooked one at home. Always a restaurant meal. I’ll have to start an at home tradition.

I know some full-blooded Irish that scoff at corned beef on Paddy's Day and opt for shepherd's pie instead. All warshed down with Irish stout and whiskey.

I am making this, this weekend for the family gathering. I bought it because it was on sale. I had no idea St Patty's day was coming up. I hardly hear anything about this "holiday" down here.
Being a redhead and not much of a drinker, the day usually passes without a word.

Typically, we would be doing the same; however, we have so much entertaining going on this weekend, I simply couldn't fit in such a filling meal to an already full menu. I am a bit sad about that, but o'well. Next year.

I think it will surprise no one when I say I absolutely loath corned beef and cabbage. This from a lad who was raised in an Irish Catholic household.

I used some left over potatoes and Corned beef to make Hash for breakfast. Delightful!
