Greetings fellow afficionados,
Does anyone know of a Canadian supplier who stocks Condor? I am a brit expat who now lives in Ontario and I sorely miss my favourite tobacco. I have used online stores but they have now ceased trading in Condor.
I discovered 1792 flake recently which I like, but would like to source Condor. Failing that does anyone have suggestions on a good substitute I could try.
Thanks,

Dave

Unfortunately, the only way I know of to get Condor (or many other English blends; Players, B&H, etc....ironically, the prevailent brands of cigarettes here) is to order them direct from the U.K., and take the tax hit. You could try talking to your local B&M(s), see if they would consider importing it for you - however I have been told that it is very difficult to get CFIA approval on new blends of pipe-tobacco due to the stingent testing requirements in place. As I understand it, each component of the blend, be it leaf, humectant, or other, needs to be lab-tested individually before the blend can be given the green-light for importation for resale. I would also suspect from my own dealings with the CFIA that they would demand the values by percentage for each constituent ingredient - something that many a blender would be loathe to pass along.
I haven't smoked Condor, but from what I've heard it's very strong Lakeland scented Va? Perhaps something like Hearth and Home's Lakeland Brickle would be up your alley...or perhaps Dark Flake Scented from the G&H line (Sam's Flake is pretty damned tasty too, now that I think about it).

Lakeland Brickle is good, but doesn't have as strong of a Lakeland scent. Condor is some wonderful stuff, but I had to order it direct from the U.K. as well. I have an unopened tin of Ennerdale. So, I can't say how it compares to that.
