Comoy's Selected Straight Grain

These pipes very often go overlooked. Comoy's highest grade pipe was the Specimen Straight Grain, the Selected are pipes that just barely missed the mark for top billing. This example has one tiny fill on the rim.

They're great pipes and you're right, they're just short of being Specimen. You can't sell a pipe with fills as a first so Comoy's loss is our gain. They fly under the radar and can usually be had for a song.

That is one gorgeous piece of briar! I am smitten with it. A beautiful shape with grain to die for is what you got there. Jealousy has taken hold...for now. If you ever want to sell it, let me know. please.

I have a small Prince edition. Smokes those strong tobaccos that need a group one or two bowl size. I do wish they had put the stem logo on that model.

Reminds me of a funny comment...when recently talking about that Comoy picture book, a friend commented that every one of those Blue Ribands wakes up each morning wishing it was a Specimen Straight Grain LOL
