I picked up this Comoys Billiard last week. The pictures were fuzzy so I took a chance. I was amazed when the pipe arrived and it looks barely smoked. The stem was oxidized but nary a tooth mark was to be found. The pipe came with the box and sock.
I soaked and polished the stem and did an alcohol/salt soak on the briar. The stem came out like new and the bowl only required a hand polish with Paragon. The beveled bowl top is also like new. The Comoys stem logo is the inset piece, not a stamp
I'm having a hard time putting a date to the pipe and value. I cannot find any other gold band Comoy Deluxe pipes on the web. Most of the gold-band pipes available have the three hallmarks or are in silver. This band has the "Comoys" oval football logo on one side and "22k Gold Plated" on the other. The stamping is immaculate.
It is a large pipe, maybe a Group 6? 6" long, bowl is 3" high and 7/8" ID
The briar is stamped:

Comoys (oval stamp)

Deluxe
Made

In

London (in a circle)

England (Straight)
If anyone has seen a gold band Deluxe and can offer any advice on the value, that would be appreciated. Any other thoughts on the pipe are welcome as well.

Beautiful pipe. It seems that dating a Comoy is very difficult. I've attached a piece from a collector's site. I hope it gets you started on your quest.

I have the Derek Green article, but it confuses me more than helps. The stamp on the Briar is referenced in a description about a 1930's era Deluxe. The round stamp on the other side, is referenced as used on a 1950's era pipe. I wonder if I contact Mr. Green he could offer any info? There is a contact on his website. I thought one of the Comoys experts here might have a reference point. If it is just a nice estate Comoys, I'll sell it to further my Ruthenberg dream pipe purchase, if it is a collectors piece of some value, I'll keep it. It looks damn inviting to smoke...

Very, very nice looking Comoys. I've had my eye on a few before, just didn't pull the trigger and get them. Sorry, can't help with the information. I don't have much experience with their pipes, but they do look like they'd be a little harder to date.

I did a little further reading. On another pipe forum a gentleman did a lot of research. It sounds as if your pipe may be from the 1960's. Interesting quest.
