Can anyone tell me when Comoys started and ended The Guildhall Line?
The shape is 296. Stamping is very faint. The Guildhalll over London Pipe, on the top side of shank. Underneath is barely legible Comoys (I think) and 296. Just a good guess date range would be helpful. 09B22834-CA36-470C-A126-C343BF97AC2D.jpegC5B27FB4-9BF5-494E-B9CA-2C1CEA7545AD.jpeg67C99438-E3C3-4826-80DB-CFBAC3A45237.jpeg

Unfortunately, these is virtually no literature on Comoy's 2nd lines (Sasieni has documentation). I have a hunch 2nd lines were dropped after the merger in '81. Unless you have a specific COM to match to a Comoy's, thats as good as it gets date-wise.

The Guildhall was introduced in 1948. Targeting a lower price point, it still had attractive grain with a stain composed of a dark background with an orange based top finish. At some point in the sixties the company began stamping "made by Comoy's" on the pipe. My interest in Comoy wanes after the family lost control but I do know versions of The Guildhall were offered at least into the eighties.

Thanks, I’ll call it maybe 60’s to 1980. Thanks.

I have a full bent billiard which just has London Pride stamped on the side and no other markings.
I vaguely remember purchasing it in the mid eighties from a tobacco shop off the wall under the Comoy's sign. All of the pipes were very blonde or light in color. I vaguely recall it being new old stock at that time. Would this have been a second ? Or Was it possible that early pipes only said London Pride ? Or perhaps its a french made after the takeover? The briar has no flaws. I don't have a picture at this time.
