I just received a Comoy that would seem to date to the 50's based on the Made in stamp. Command Commission SLE is also stamped on the pipe (SLE = Special Limited Edition?) any information on the stampings or grade quality would be appreciated. Excellent balance and a good smoker from the first bowl. Identification assistance appreciated.

Thank you doctorbob - the stem logo is missing as it is a replacement stem. It is a Rhodesian style bowl with diamond stem. Shape number is 735. On the same side of the stem as the shape number is" Made"(top circle) "London" (bottom circle) with "IN (center of the circle). England is stamped below the Made in London stamp. The other side of the stem is stamped COMOY'S (straight imprint). Below the COMOY'S is stamped Command Commission. Below the Command Commission is stamped SLE (straight imprint). Picture is not clear to send.

We had a similar question here a few years ago, in this thread:

The example that I posted from Ebay is no longer viewable and the OP never posted pictures. GBD had a similar line, made after their merger in '82. I suspect your piece is probably from that era. Pictures would be great, ebay link, etc.
