They're made in France, but so were some of the older Comoy's pipes. In fact, they're using some of the old Comoy templates for making the current production.

As a fan of the old Comoy's I, too, have been looking at them. If you get one, please share your thoughts on it.

OH man I've seen a few Comoy's and Chacom's lately that I really like. I love those matte finishes they have on some of their lines.

I've bought my first Chacom lately and just saw another I really want to buy. The only thing holding me back is that I find the draw to not be quite as open as I like.

I believe that Chacom also makes the Rattray pipes. Frankly, the Rattrays are over priced and the drilling is off. My 2 Rattray's smoke OK but can't pass a pipe cleaner. There are better pipes for the money.

Fitzy:I have had similar experience with my two new lightweight Chacoms, other than that no complains so far

PapipeGuy: Complety agree with you, saying this I refer to my recent experience with two Rattrays from factory's Marling and Highland lines, though no drilling issues whatsoever, nevertheless, the firt(marlin) might have been a bit better finished for the price-the steam on this canadian model were a bit outlined, and with the latter more costly Highland model,I'm occasionally facing overheating issues, all this leads me to believe that same factorys Chacoms might even be better made yet usually are a bit cheaper.

I got a Rattray for $59 from SPC when they were on sale and it is drilled perfectly and smokes great. I personally would have preferred if the draw was a bit more open but it still smokes great.
I'm in love with this Chacom Hand Made but for $160 I'd rather not take a chance of it not being a great smoker. In that price range and below I can get something like a Savinelli, Ascorti or Il Ceppo and be pretty much guaranteed of a great pipe.
