For those of us obsessed with collecting (gotta catch em all)...
What are some more series and sets of Tobacco and Pipes that are somewhat easily acquired ?

Off the top of my head (and I'm in the middle of collecting them)

Tobacco's

"The old ones" series by C&D though I can not bring my self to purchase the grape flavored Aro

Pipes

" The Favorites" set by Savinelli (including the bings extra)
" The Cobit" set by MM

If there are Unicorns or Outrageously overpriced sets that you drool over pleas feel free to list , but this is mainly for the working class collector IE me...

Happy Thanksgiving and Sorry I missed you Vets, my belated thanks for your sacrifice...

I wouldn't call them any sort of series, more of different lines from a manufacturer. Several tobacco companies have different lines. You mentioned the Old Ones but C&D has several others.

As does GL Pease and many other brands.

The pipes you mentioned are sort of the same just subcategories of production like Vauen's Auenland churchwarden pipes.

I got some of the Celephïs. Be afraid. The first bowl was like a grape cigar. I’m letting it rest in a jar for a while to see if that helps. Thankfully I smoked it out of a MM & not one of my briars. That pipe isn’t just ghosted, it’s full on possessed.

Chances are, if I have it, sooner or later, I'll smoke it!.....However, Enjoying it is my anticipated reaction, which is the usual conclusion.....I can find something good in pretty much anything that isn't a severely flavored aromatic...

Like Hoosier, I am more driven by my desire to find and smoke preferred tobaccos in pipes I like than to collect complete sets of anything.

That said; about 20+ years ago Tsuge released a set of 4 pipes named for the seasons in Japanese. The shiki (four seasons) series. I have Haru (spring) and Natsu (summer). I would really like to get my hands on examples of the other two. Aki (fall) and Fuyu (winter).

If any of you have one knocking about in a drawer somewhere, please let me know by PM.

I never went for a collection of tobacco. I never found a collection of flakes I was interested in.

I do have two seven day sets of pipes from my favorite carvers. My first was a set from Rad Davis and my second was from Jack Howell. Giving specific dimensions and colors is a lot easier than a tobacco set.

From Smoking Pipes

Beginning with the birth of Erik Peter in 1855, the Stokkebye tobacco tradition has been carried on by the family, currently by the founder's great-grandson, Erik Stokkebye, via a series of unique tobaccos reflective of their personal tastes. In furtherance of that commemoration, Erik Stokkebye's 4th Generation pipes feature a selection of four shapes, each corresponding to the birth year of Stokkebye's forebears. An excellent way to carry on the Stokkebye legacy.

this would be an interesting collection in marring the pipe to its corresponding tobacco

The Stokkebye tobacco tradition began with the birth of Erik Peter in 1855 who went on to found the family business in Denmark. As an homage to his family, Erik Stokkebye developed four blends - 1855, 1897, 1931, and 1957 - marking the years of birth for his great-grandfather, grandfather, father, and himself. Each blend has a unique flavor, is Virginia based, and is reflective of their personal tastes. We hope you will enjoy trying out this special series of tobaccos.

Not so much a series or a set but I collect patent Era Brigham pipes. I know I will never have an example of each but I am still adding them when I am able. As for series of tobaccos, I enjoy what I've tried from the C&D Simply Elegant line so far. I still have 2 to try once I get through some open jars

I enjoy my cheapo Brigham very much sans the filter I think the briar and finish are great I'd be interested in getting deeper into Brigham and getting some made in Canada higher end stuff but I would not know where to begin. I'll check those out , thanks for the tip.

this looks interesting

I am excited for his book to come out but haven't heard anything in a few years. Have fun going deeper on Brighams and be sure to post your photos when you get some nore of their pipes

About 30 years ago I sold a 7 day set of Dunhills to a well healed doctor I knew. As best I can remember, they were in a fitted case, medium size, smooths, with nice grain and had been lightly smoked. I got two grand for them.... Wonder what they would be worth today? puffy

Peterson Sherlock Holmes series. 14 of them are easy. There are 4 additional ones that just never show up, they are no longer making them.
I too am a Peterson collector. SmokingPipes.com has had a fair number of SH’s in their estate section, both on both .com site and .eu site. Which one’s are you looking for? Hope this helps

I collect and refurbish Petersons. The collection had grown and grown, but without much focus. Recently I have focused on early ones, especially the large shapes. I am always on the hunt for classics that are no longer made (eg #308). I still buy tired ones to refurbish and sell. I really enjoy that even though I have calculated my return at about $0.25 per hour. Attached is a favorite of mine. The stummel is from 1920 and solid but reall run down. I worked on it and was lucky enough to track down a stem. By the way it’s a wonderful smoker.13ABF860-0911-47A2-8365-2363D825CAA8.jpegCCF5EDDC-9D49-4754-BFF2-D60F73D1D945.jpeg
