Do any of you collect older tobacco tins? I really enjoy this part of the pipe hobby. Fun to see what you find out there and it costs less than a pack of gum in most cases.

Disregard the tin on the left, it came with and it was just to toss it in the trash..
picked this one up for under two dollars, might be dumb, but it's fun and don't really cost anything. Would be cool to see any that you have, post a pic!

Very nice! I really like the old style advertising and packaging. Those are great finds.

I've been thinking about picking a few up to add to my collection of one,...an old Prince Albert tin.

And it's not that old,....it has the zip-code on it.

 haha I have no idea what it means and I speak Swedish. Some kind of pills anyway, tabletter = pills. I just tossed it in the trash. It came with my tobacco tin purchase.

I collect the tins! Full, when I can; the art work is great and speaks to me of a culture at peace with itself, free, enthusiastic, new. American through and through!

Would like to see your collection nativeson! I picked this one up for a couple bucks including shipping. I love the older artwork too. It's like comparing the cartoon artwork we grew up on compared to the crap they put out today for kids. I love the fifties and sixties style. I can't help but think that a part of the reason Early Morning Pipe is so popular is because it still has a fifties style artwork on the tin.

Sadly I got outbid at the last second on two old Mac Barens. They went for around five dollars.

I've been watching old tins on auction sites for a few months now in hopes of starting a small collection as a hobby. I quickly discovered that at least in my case, if I decide to pursue this, it's going be one of those hobbies that is "low and slow" instead of "fast and furious".

The tins that are very common, like Prince Albert and Velvet are easy to find and quite affordable,...but those truly collectable old and rare tins are fetching some righteous bucks.

So at this point I think rural garage sales and those out of the way antique shops, (not those "malls" with computers setting by the cash register with Ebay on the screen), will be our best bet.
:) Oh,…and Briar Bullys little white and blue tin in is for Caffeinated Aspirin.
