I've been smoking Carter Hall more and more recently. In the beginning all I got was ash, but now I am picking up on the cocoa topping and the burley nuttiness and I absolutely love it. My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that I wish the cocoa taste were a little stronger. When you open up the tub you're greeted with this incredible, rich, chocolate smell. It's definitely there in the smoke, I just wish there were a liiittle more of it. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tobacco that would be similar to Carter Hall, with a little more of that cocoa goodness?

Prince Albert is the classic cocoa flavored aromatic codger blend. I find it a little cloying, but many pipe smokers, some of the members here, smoke mostly that. If you like cocoa, you might like that in your rotation.

I seem to like my aromatics flavored with brandy or liqueurs, like GLP Barbary Coast with a blessing of brandy or Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic flavored with three liqueurs. Bourbon or Irish whisky is nice flavoring too.

I also like anisette and/or molasses as in Granger or Mixture No. 79.

Thanks for the recommendations, everybody. I think I'll try to pick up some Sutliffe RR Match and Bob's chocolate flake whenever I'm able, since people got behind those

Chocolate covered potato chips are a “thing” so, why not chocolate-tobacco? Have it at.

It’s funny how tastes evolve. I used to thoroughly enjoy MacBarren Burley for just that reason: cocoa. The now extinct Norwood and Burley London Blend were (mild) chocolate blends, not aromatics, but the subtle chocolate common to some burley.

Today, I can’t enjoy cocoa tobacco.
