Ok so I am a newer pipe smoker but have jumped in headfirst the past couple years and I have acquired and tasted a fair amount of various tobacco’s and vintages. Burley based blends are certainly my favorite and this Cobblestone Hiking being one of my very favorite products. What is the history and details of this stuff? It’s fantastic but seems to go under the radar. I believe there is Dark fire Kentucky in it and sometimes I would swear a bit of perique. If someone told me that HU and Hans had some hand in it I would not be surprised. It seems very different than the other Cobblestone products I have tried even the other “outdoor series” line. Maybe it’s just me but it seems special and I was just curious if theres more to its story than meets the eye.

Buy it while you can. The Cobblestone blends are discontinued with the acquisition of Sutliff.
I’ve been trying! I found 5 cans on mars last night and it shipped this morning. I got caught with my pants down honestly. I have 1 tin and an open jar. My local BM placed an order with the distributor because it showed available but they haven’t been invoiced yet. Fingers crossed

Glad to hear! Apologies for my response to your question the other day coming off as selfish, it honestly wasn’t meant to be. The store I bought from was weird and I wasnt sure if I’d actually get what I had ordered but it did arrive. Wish I had more myself!

Not OP but I didn't think you were :)

BnB is legit by the way. Idk why but they also seem to have a secondary site called MomsCigars... never tried that one but I've done multiple orders with BnB no problems. Used to be they would hold off on special limited releases a few days and be more under the radar so I was able to snag a few through them that way but this last Firebird release sold out just as fast as at SP if not faster so the "secret" is out lol

Yeah the two sites looks really similar and that’s what I thought. The concern, though, started to set in when Moms Cigars was showing COH as out of stock, yet BnB showed in stock. I figured what the hell and rolled the dice by buying five cans. I got an order received email as normal but it was a few days before I got a follow up. That email stated they were experiencing difficulties with fulfilling orders but that mine was getting put together. I went back to their site and sure enough it was showing COH being out of stock. I figured that maybe their inventory system wasn’t up to date when I placed the order and I was out of luck so I responded saying if they didn’t have what I bought then no worries and to refund me. Well a few more days go by and into next week when I got a shipping confirmation. Cool! Then delays to bad weather and then the package sitting in my regional USPS distribution center. They finally arrived and I posted them in the TAD thread but it was a process. Hence my hesitation on telling the other guy where I had bought them. I felt it was pointless because they are out of stock and it was a process just getting them. I’m spoiled by being used to quick service with SmokingPipes lol

But I should have just said all of this to begin with. Would have avoided being put on full blast by some guy with anger issues lol

I’ve seen these blends in stock at SPc. But, I never pulled the trigger, because I never hear anything about them. How are the Virginia blends? Can you taste a casing?

I haven't yet ordered their VA plug yet, but have it in a basket for early next week. But Hiking and Burley Plug are excellent. So the quality is there. Outside of these 2, still exploring Cobblestone myself.

I heard the Outdoors series was made by Kopp. Confirmed on tobaccoreviews as well. In any event, i've stocked up on my favorites, just because of lessons learned surviving the Dunhill and McClelland closures.

Some were made by Kopp, some by Sutliff, but all are gone. The IP is being discontinued regardless of who made them. And not all of the TR information was always accurate on those blends.

The chess series and the aromatic flakes are Kopp, and most of the rest is Sutliff. I only know this because I love several of them and the back labels give it away.

Yep I've experienced similar as well, it's def weird they not only have 2 different sites but separate inventory systems as well lol

And yeah that seems to be trending a bit here lately... both outright anger and poorly concealed as well 😂

The Virginia blends are good imo. I do taste a light casing. Chess Knight I like a lot and it is similar to Capstan Gold. Virginia’s don’t agree with me so it’s an every now and then smoke for me.
