I smoke several bowls a day, but when I’m out and about I take two with me at most and have run into the issue of a wet and unpleasant pipe unable to dry before I wanted another smoke. This idea came to me one such day and has worked well. Gravity has held all the pipes I have tried this in in this position, although upside down does works better. Using the vent system on my truck has reliably dried my pipe fairly quickly. I wouldn’t suggest using this method for a heavy pipe, as the vent supports the weight. Also I wouldn’t advise using with the air conditioner as AC can sometimes be a bit moist in my experience. Also remove all dottle as it is likely to dry and fall onto the flooring if your vehicle. As I drive a truck with rubberized flooring I haven’t had a need for concern, however you may if you have nice carpets or upholstery . Just a silly fix for those of us impatient to await a natural drying when on the go. :)

Here I thought I was breaking new ground. LOL Just glad to finally have a post that wasn’t a question. Haha
If I'm using the air vents in my vehicle to dry my pipes how much time should they hang depending on the quality of the briar and the thickness of the cake - what if I have a bowl coating?

Looks fun. I usually just decide how many bowls I'll enjoy and take that many pipes, even if it's more than two the first pipe will be dry if I ever get around to it (that would be one long road trip) but there are always some paper towels in the Jeep just because.

I think if you can't adequately dry the pipe with a pipe cleaner or two, either your tobacco is too wet or your technique needs some work. Clever fix though.
You are correct. However I often forget to bring pipe cleaners, smoke a lot of aromatics, and probably smoke too quickly when I’m driving. Three strikes and I get wet pipes. Lol At home I smoke with at a more leisurely pace and have pipe cleaners at hand as well as other pipes for rotation.
