Cleaning a screw-in stem

I clean the the same as a normal stem. It's a little harder to get a pipe cleaner through but you can do it. Just put the pipe cleaner in through the screw in side because you'll never get it from the other side. I also dab a little alcohol on a klenex and clean off the metal.

I sometimes have to thin, trim the pipe cleaners to go through. A little Bar Keeper's Buddy and a toothbrush do wonders on the threads.

To get it to brighten up good you can use a copper wire brush. The copper is soft enough it won't scratch the metal.
