Has anyone ever heard of Christeson pipes? I have one. My internet search has only revealed Maori carved versions. This is a simple smooth bulldog looking bowl. There is a gold band (18ct ?) about 3/8" wide with a bent stem.
The band says "CHRISTESON 18CT G.P." I understand that Christeson, was a Wellington tobacconist. G.P. could be George Pretkethly, a New Zealand jeweler and goldsmith. The bowl is stamped "CHRISTESON NEW ZEALAND".
That's all I know. Does anyone know anything about the brand, possible age or why I only see reference to the Maori carved versions?
