Here's a quickie on the pipe making seminar from the Chicago Pipe Show.
You may have seen some of the pictures already, but scroll to the bottom to see some cool "Before & After" shots of the finished pipes.
I was quite impressed with the results.

Very impressive. Those pipes turned out great. Makes me want to get tools and some briar. The pride in ownership of a quality pipe you made yourself has to exceed any other.

The prebored briar blocks available make it lots easier to make a pipe Jay. Check out Pimo. They are Good folks.

The only work I like to do with my hands is on a computer keyboard. LOL.
Plus, there was no way I could take those 2 full days and still cover other aspects of the show and business I needed to conduct, like selling 515 estate pipes that was an 8.5 hour process.

Kevin: You're mention of selling the estate pipes made me think of this.
I read on Marty Pulver's website that this year at the pipe show there were 2 buyers from China with literally duffel bags full of money who went through and bought a ton of pipes, leaving few for the traditional/American buyers.
Did you see this?

reminds me of the lyric to a song..."we got a mess of cash in duffel bags, and every penny's hot! Well, hallelujah!!!"
was this a good thing or a bad thing that these guys came in and threw down handfuls of money at the show?
