Haha... indeed, they were retouched to one extent or another, but truthfully it wasn't to the extent that most people might assume (and certainly nothing like the crazy amounts of digital retouching that gets done today). Playboy used great photographers, great makeup artists, great lighting and wardrobe, and great looking young models. The photo-retouching was just a little extra bit of polish to already strong images. The unretouched images weren't radically different than the originals. The exception was when you had aging celebrities on magazine covers. That's when you had to pull out every trick in the book to make them look better.Playboy used re-touched photographs??? Say it ain't so!
