I must say I miss Pheasant Run
Indeed.
Lots of bitching about the place being outdated in its last few years... worn carpet, tired curtains, and so forth. But such things were destined to become a part of the Chicago Show associative memory package, not something that actually mattered.
In fact (in my case, anyway), Pheasant Run's distinctive 1970's "feel and personality" made the show experience
more memorable overall---and therefore categorically
better---than if it had been held in a modern cookie-cutter corporate monoblock hotel.
