Chewing Tobacco On Bonanza

I especially like that show when Hoss is the main character.It's usually funny then.In todays show an oldtimer offered him a chaw.That's what those old timers called it.My grand father called it chawing tobacco.Anyway the old timmer told Hoss that it killed germs so his gums wouldn't rot.I'm sure the do-gooders wouldn think of allowing that in a tv show these days.

If you say chewin' tobacco + western, first thing comes to mind is The Outlaw Josey Wales. Second would be Strother Martin's character in Butch & Sundance, "bingo".
