I know many have mentioned chewing rope and other pipe tobaccos but has anyone or does anyone chew cigar tobacco. I mean cutting off a inch or so of a unsmoked cigar for chew?

Growing up, my neighbor quit smoking cigars, but he always ALWAYS had one in his mouth, chewing away at it. I expect it delivered some nic for him. If you want to put some in your cheek, go for it.
One of my childhood baseball coaches was kind of like this. He smoked (still smokes last I saw him) cigars, but sometimes he'd also just have one in his mouth not lit, chewing on it.

I worked for years with a gentleman who always had an unlit cigar in his mouth and when he finished chewing it up he’d grab another. I have no idea if he got any nicotine out of it or was just a reminder of when he used to smoke them? I’d imagine there would be some amount of nicotine absorption at least. Every now and again I’d see him trim off a thoroughly mangled part with a penknife and continue on but I never once saw him spit like you’d expect from chewing tobacco. Strange fella but quite well dressed and personable.

I have a nasty neighbor who chews on cheap cigars and always has spittle running down on to his shirt. Kind of a gross habit IMO.

Gross? Maybe. He is doing his part to support the tobacco growing business though. More power to him, I judge his appearance not. :sher: I find such no worse that tobacco burns in the jeans and shirts, particularly "wife beater" tees. rotf I'm in favor of personal signatures as it were.
