Cheap but a good Meer

Does anyone know of any good but cheap meerschaum pipes made from block and not compressed, for a beginner?
Also, will i get the same smoking result from a cheap compressed meer?

Storient has some good ones at good prices, not ridiculous. From what I have seen, decent meers tend to start at $100 and go up from there. Anything less I have found, has not looked good enough to own. You could try getting estate meers off Ebay and check the local flee markets, you can probabley find a cheaper one of quality there.

S. Yanik is a master carver and sells on ebay. He will have his signature on the pics. I've seen a few of his less intricate designs run between and $50 and $80. Shipping from Turkey is $18 on top of that. He usually puts 15 or so on every week to week and a half. Currently he doesn't have any on at this very moment but give it a day or two and you will see them.

Smokingpipesdotcom has a decent selection of Storient meers for @ a hundred. That's where I got mine. Worth every penny too.
