Was going through a massive load of estate pipes that I got in today. 100ish pipes, wound up with about 80 basket pipes and 20 that may be worth doing something with. One of the odds one that I came across was this one. It has the Charatan's (Lane) mark stamped on the tenon, the shape and everything else was X'd out.
I believe I saw a salesman's example that was X'd out in this manner, but I am not 100% sure as to what I've got here. There were 3 other Charatan's in this lot, a couple of Parkers, a Longchamp, a couple of Pre-replublic Petersons, a Colossal, one I've never seen, a King's Cross Featherweight Cutty (Made by Savinelli, I believe).
Anyways, are there any Charatan's experts here that can shed some light onto this X'd out pipe?
