Got this email from Smoking Pipes, as did most everybody here I assume.
"Chacom's USA line: a variety of shapes and finishes from across the board of Chacom's offerings. Recently, we had the opportunity to hand-pick the best pieces to come our way. How could we pass it up, especially when we knew we could select the best offerings and offer them to you at a significant discount?
And so, for the first time on the site, we present the Chacom USA line. With plenty of shapes and finishes on offer, including dark and smoky sandblasts, rich dark smooth finishes, and more subdued matte walnut stains, it should be a snap to find a pipe you'll love.
We haven't had them before, and we might not see them again. This is all we have, and at $55.00 across the board, they won't last long. So if you see something you like, grab it now."
They sold a lot of them today. I found three I liked and for $55.00 each which may turn out to be a good deal. We shall see.

I have two Chacom and they've worked out well. I'm not sure if Chocam USA would differ from those I've bought in the past. I'll take a look, out of curiosity.

I checked them out as well and even put one of the Canadians in my cart, great looking pipe. After thinking about it for awhile I decided not to buy it. Maybe if it's still there next time I visit their site? :puffy:

At $55, these run somewhat less than the rest of the Chacom line, so this is a down-market series aimed at the U.S. market. I don't know what that means in terms of quality and materials. They look like sturdy, durable pipes in traditional shapes. If you bought one or several, let us know.

I don't believe there is any difference, but we shall see as I mentioned. I have three coming, all Zulus as always, and shall report back. They are using the same model numbers so it may be over-stock, at least I hope so.

I generally buy pipes of a higher price point than Chacom. That being said, the one I do own is one of my favorite pipes that I reach for more than most my other pipes. I too am curious what the difference is. From looking at the odd assortment of shapes and finishes, I wouldnt be surprised if they bought a bunch of one offs. Here are some neat videos of the factory. We often see the debate between hand made and factory made pipes, to be these video's illustrate what a machine/factory made pipe is.
