I bought a Chacom Baya 929 pipe yesterday.

I wanted something light and compact, with not too small a bowl. This Chacom seemed to fit the bill.
It's briar with a blue marble finish. I couldn't find much info on the internet on it. I believe it's an ebonite stem. Also, one website says it is supposed to a metal filter, but there's no filter on the pipe I bought. Maybe they come with or without?
Any information would be appreciated.

One really neat thing that doesn't show up well on the photos above is the broad oval shank.
The "Chacom" stamp is on the top of the shank where it's broader.
It doesn't bother me that there's no stinger. Just makes me wonder if it was removed (it's a new pipe, so not likely) or if it came without one.

I have heard it said that some pipe factories will intentionally withhold stingers/filters from pipes destined for the US market, as they aren't as popular there as they are in Europe. There's no way for me to be certain that this is the case here, but is something to consider. Have you reached out to Chacom with your question?
