One of my birthday pipes was a Chacom 185 Exquise straight billiard with the briar stained a
deep forest green. Iwan Ries said in their description that this pipe was only distributed through
them, and it has disappeared from the site, so I guess this is the last one. However, the 185 shape
is one of Chacolm's classics, so it is still available if in a somewhat different finish. It's light weight, on
the large end of Group 4, with a tapered stem and (in this finish) with a narrow silver-colored band.
I'm breaking it in slowly, but it is a nice drawing pipe, with an ample airway and a substantial bit.
I think stained pipes (deep green, blue, etc.) have somewhat disappeared from fashion, but they
are still around -- some blue Petersons, at least one other green Chacom, among others. I really
enjoy mine. It's distinctive in my group of now dozens of pipes.
