Looking for advice. I am going to buy a pound of aromatic that will arrive pretty wet. Going to cellar in a 1/2 gal mason jar. Should I dry it out first or cellar it wet, and why? Thanks in advance.

I totally agree with anotherbob. That's what I do. I'll usually leave a little out of the jar, and put it in a zip lock bag. It'll keep good for months or longer. Plus, you get to smell the tobacco when it sits out in the bag.

Aromatics don't age well, so if you are looking for improvement over time, you'll be disappointed. The toppings fade and there's so much Propylene Glycol in them that the tobacco won't evolve (or devolve, depending on your outlook) over time. The good news is that they are also well endowed with added stuff to stop fungal growth, so the tobacco won't turn moldy on you. If you are going to smoke in all in the next year or so, the tobacco will be just fine. Just keep moving it to smaller jars as you smoke it down.

Great info, thanks. Cellaring may be a misnomer. I buy what i like by the pound so I have a wide variety to choose from, and I get the cheapest price. Cellaring happens by accident cause I like a lot of different blends.
