I have a Castello Trademark shape 15, KK. Under and to the right of the word Trademark is the letter H. I can’t find any reference for the letter H. If you know what the H stands for please share. Thank youCAFB99DE-4800-4D36-8A5B-454AAB597B2F.jpeg

Might help if you showed up the entire stamping/stem but from this it looks to be a personalized/dealer stamp.

Probably a dealer mark that I’m not familiar wiith. @Cigar Ash Queen showed a Castello earlier today with a C2 or CZ mark that she can probably decipher.

Dealer Stamps/Marks, what the heck.

If I bought a really expensive pipe, I would not accept it with any Dealer Stamps/Marks, I don’t like the idea of this.

Nobody better be stamping my Castello pipes with any h x z or v LOL... :(

Hmm

Question: does it affect the pipe in any major way? For example, does the pipe smoke differently? And it's so hard to even see lol I had to zoom by a thousand to be able to see this cz.. I don't think it changes the way the pipe smokes or looks or quality of it...

I think if someone is putting together a collection and wants the purest form of the pipe, I can see why they wouldn't want the dealer marking on it. Ultimately you're correct though, it has nothing to to with the way it'll smoke. :)

Yes I mean it's still a Castello pipe, nothing is changing that part of it. It's a matter of preference I suppose if the person doesn't want to know that there's a tiny cz there (since you can barely even see it) but ultimately it's still the same amazing pipe imho ☺️

I’m guessing I have the largest collection here and I enjoy knowing where some of my pipes came from. To me it is the purest form of a Castello pipe because it went through the hands of Mr Coppo after the games and strategies of the in person selection process as opposed to the generic US mark.

Ahhh I won’t cry, I didn’t realize that Castello has dealers put their stamp on the pipes, to designate where the were sold from.

I saw an earlier post from Briar Blues mentioning it here on the forum from a few years back.

The letter A, now that would be nice to get one of these... :)

P.S. @Cigar Ash Queen my first Castello arrived a few days ago, but all my kids were born in September, so I’ll open the package in a few weeks and post it then. Oh I feel like a kid in a candy store. LOL ?

Some of these stamp codes are indecipherable. They certainly don't detract from a pipe in any way, but it would be more upright if stamps gave the customer information, like what year the pipe was made. As it is they just cause confusion and consternation and should be deservedly ignored. Honors to the artisans who etch or stamp the year on their pipes, and a few brands, like Luciano.

I also prefer to know where my pipes come from. The generic US stamp is no different than having a stamp from the shops the pipes were sold through.

Can't say I understand any concern about this addition to a brand's stamping. If you're a collector or an avid adherent of pipes of a brand, the point is that you now own XX or XXX number of these pipes. To be curious is one thing, but to hold that it makes any difference other than nominal is, to me, incomprehensible.

I jumped at my first comments not realizing Castello dealers stamped the pipes.

It’s all good, stamp away! :)

P.S. Any A pipes for sale? LOL ?

Oh I love this list that you have provided because it may put their mind at ease about some of the concerns or misconceptions that they had about dealers writing things on them... I also agree about "A" coding one! I'm happy that you got your Castello and I can't wait to see your post in September!!! Excited for you ?
