I'm panning to attend Chicago this year, one way or another. I'm sure a lot of you guys will fly in, but a lot of us will end up driving too. The thought crossed my mind to ask other DFW members if they want to carpool there and split gas money.

But I figure I'll throw the idea out there, and leave it open for anyone to post here if they want to give it a shot.

If I lived in Teaxas, or somewhere on the way to Chicago from Texas, I'd say sure. But I live in Michigan. Unfortunatly, the show is the day before I go back to college, so I cant go.

I was thinking of this as a way for anybody anywhere to post. I'm in Dallas, but if theres someone in Michigan that wants to carpool, they're welcome to post that here.

lol, Shaun and I did something very similar a few years back. 8 people + luggage in a 15 passenger van - with people from TX, AL, AR, and some other states I don't remember. We were heading to a writing.com convention in PA. It was a fun and wild trip. :D

Man... that trip was legendary. We got stuck behind a tractor trailer wreck on some hick road out in rural PA and sat for hours in one spot. I made $103 in a bet to flash truckers. ;)
Now, fitting all that luggage in there was the hard part. We had to take out a row of seats and creatively piece together a wall of suitcases and because there was a formal masquerade ball, us ladies also had dress bags. Mine was feathered...

I think with the van rental and gas, we each pitched in about $75.

Sounds like fun, but I live about 10 miles south of the show. I will take a vacation day on Friday to attend.
