Captain Black (White)

Though it's never been my primary tobacco,I've smoked a good bit of this blend over the years.Back in my working days I kept a pack of it and a pipe in my desk drawer for times when I forgot to bring something from home.I had a 23 mile drive to work,and I had to be there before 6:00 AM.At that time in the morning it wasn't hard to forget something.When someone wants to give me some tobacco as a gift this is a common blend that can be found a lot of places,so it's what I tell then to get.I'm finishing up a can now that I got for Christmas.To tell the truth though I'm going to have to switch them to another blend.At least for a while.I'm just getting of this one..You ever just get tired of a blend?

It happens a lot. You get interested in a blend and then at some point you tire of it or just need a break from it. That's the beauty of this hobby; there are many blends to got to and you know you can always go back to something you've smoked in the past and re-discover it.

Variety is the spice of life. Smoke other blends and when you come back to the CAP, it will be good to you again.

Kind of weird...if I smoke too much of one blend it tends to lose its "taste." Does anyone else experience this?
But yeah, I started out really disliking Captain Black White but I like it now...had some today as a matter of fact...just not everyday.
I have Captain Black Gold and it isn't bad either.

I really enjoy my CB Gold. And I hope I always do. Its one of the few blends that I can get down the street.

Captain Black White was my original tobacco. It does lose its pleasant effect after awhile. Listen to strongirish and take a break; you will come back to the blend anew and it will be the same sweet and mellow taste you remember. I find if you smoke it for awhile it just gets plain airy and bland - switch it up! Plenty of great blends out there.

I change blends every one or two bowls.. maybe cuz I'm newer. But I smoke different tobaccos all day long. Maybe one day I will switch to one blend only. seems a nice way yo go.

I've been smoking for nearly 45 years and I do exactly the same thing. One of the greatest things about a pipe is that there are so many good blends out there to try.
