Hi I'm new to the forum and pipe smoking. Pipes are very hard to come by here in the Philippines so you usually just get what you can. I bought an estate pipe marketed as a "Vauen Revelation" but I have reason to believe it may not be a genuine Vauen pipe. For one it does not have the word Vauen nor any other markings on it aside from the word "Revelation" on the side. It also doesn't look like it can take a filter which I hear is somewhat a must in German pipes. Finally the shank seems to bent a little more to the left, I thought German craftsmen were supposed to be more precise.
If anyone knows anything about this kind of pipe Id be very thankful, Paid a good sum for it and the seller is willing to refund if it turns out to be anything apart from a genuine vauen pipe. The only reason we think its a vauen pipe is due to the silver dot on the stem.
thanks for giving time to read my concern

Haven't found much. Vauen pipes have a white spot so that's probably why the seller thought that. The metallic spot looks like a Mastro de Paya, but again can't be certain. Either way looks like a quality pipe.

Thank you all for the inputs! At the very least I can say this isn't made by Vauen since the dot should've been uniform in both size and color.
